Plain English first. This is a personal portfolio, run by one person, and it collects as little as it can.
Who is responsible. Syed Mahin Shah, Worcester, Massachusetts, USA, is the controller of personal data processed through syedmahinshah.com. Contact: syedmahinshah@gmail.com.
What is collected, and why. (1) Contact form: your name, email, topic and message — used only to reply to you (legal basis: your consent and my legitimate interest in answering). (2) Analytics: Vercel Web Analytics counts page views, referrers, country, device and browser type in aggregate. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not identify you or follow you across sites (legal basis: legitimate interest in knowing which pages are read). (3) Server logs kept by the host (Vercel): IP address, user agent and request time, retained briefly for security and abuse prevention (legitimate interest).
What is never done. No selling or “sharing” of personal data, no advertising, no cross-site tracking, no profiling, no data brokers. Raw audio, video and camera data from any robot on this site never leave my own devices.
Processors. Vercel Inc. (hosting and cookieless analytics) and Resend (delivering contact-form messages to my inbox). Data may be processed in the United States; transfers rely on the providers’ standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
How long it’s kept. Form messages: 12 months, then deleted. Analytics: aggregated only, no per-visitor record.
Your rights. Wherever you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, withdraw consent at any time, and object to processing. Residents of the EU/UK (GDPR / UK GDPR), California (CCPA/CPRA) and other US states with privacy laws, and Pakistan, have these rights by law; you can also complain to your local data-protection authority. Email me and I’ll respond within 30 days.
Signals. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals are respected; because analytics here is cookieless and aggregated, nothing is sold or shared either way.
Children. This site is not directed at children under 13 (16 in the EU), and I don’t knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has sent a message, email me and it will be deleted.
Ownership. Text, code, CAD models, renders, photographs, video and the ECHOBLOOM story are © 2026 Syed Mahin Shah unless marked otherwise. You may link to and share pages; you may not republish, sell or train models on the content without written permission.
Trademarks. VEX, SOLIDWORKS, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, Unity, KiCad, HoloLens, Google and other names belong to their owners and are used only to describe the tools I worked with. No endorsement is implied. “Rocky” is the nickname of a personal, non-commercial desk robot and is not affiliated with any book, film or author.
Third parties. FES Higher Education Consultants, LUMS, WPI and Antheon are described from my own role and experience; this site is not an official channel for any of them.
No warranty. Demos are illustrations, not engineering advice. The site is provided “as is”; to the extent the law allows, I’m not liable for losses from using it.
Law. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, USA, without limiting any rights you have under the law where you live.
Found a vulnerability? Please report it privately to syedmahinshah@gmail.com with “Security report” in the subject. Good-faith research that avoids privacy violations and service disruption is welcome, and I won’t pursue legal action against it. Contact details are also published at /.well-known/security.txt.
The target is WCAG 2.2 level AA. Text contrast is checked against its background; every control works from the keyboard with a visible focus ring; images carry descriptions; the trailer never autoplays with sound.
If your system asks for reduced motion, the countdown, film grain and scroll animations switch off and every section appears in its final state. The 3D robot and the demos are enhancements — the same facts are written out in text beside them.
Known limits: the hidden game and the physics toy need a pointer or arrow keys. If anything blocks you, email syedmahinshah@gmail.com and I’ll fix it or send the information another way.
ECHOBLOOM concept images were generated with AI image tools under my art direction and are used as modelling reference; they are labelled where they appear. The game’s story, the CAD models, PCB layouts, photographs and the film are human-made.
